I have also completed a training courses in fascial release, 'Anatomy Trains', which is invaluable to restore posture and correct holding patterns that the muscles and fascia have formed and also acupuncture for the management of soft tissue and sports injuries. Sports massage therapy is most effective at bringing about pain relief, by using advanced massage techniques to work on fascial, muscle fibres, ligaments and tendons to break up scar tissue, congestion or waste in the areas causing acute/chronic pain. The massage therapy also improves circulation/blood supply, which encourages healing.
After the sports massage therapy, myofascial/fascial release and muscle energy technique, facilitated stretching is often performed to bring about flexibility to specific muscles and to help with problems/pain/stiffness/restricted movement caused by muscle imbalances. Acupuncture and or cupping may then be used to help support the treatment, Kinesiology taping can also be performed to assist the healing of fatigued areas. A stretch plan and exercise advice is given to the client to help maintain flexibility and prevent restricted movement and pain the future.
