Hopi Ear Candling
Thermo Auricular Therapy, (Hopi Ear Candling), is a pleasant and non-evasive treatment of the ears. The technique dates as far back as Biblical times, when hallow reeds from swamp areas were used as candles.
Ear candling has been passed down for many generations by the American native Indians - especially the Hopi Indians of Arizona - as well as Egyptians, Africans, Chinese, Tibetans and Aztecs. The process has been lost for many years, but has come back into practice again and renewed in Europe approximately 20 years ago, with a great deal of input from the Hopi American Indians. The Hopi Indians are the oldest Pueblo people with great Medical knowledge and are highly regarded spiritually.
The treatment used today is a variation of the ancient process known as 'coning' and is a natural ear cleansing technique, that is a simple and safe method of removing excess wax, debris and residuals of past ear infections. The ear candle creates a vacuum, which gently helps to remove wax and debris from the ear canal and induces a revitalising heat upon the head and ears, which soothes and relaxes. The ear candling is preceded by a facial cleanse and followed by a relaxing massage, concentrating on sinus and lymphatic points which help to bring relief from a wide range of conditions relating to the ears, head and face including:-
- Excessive/compacted earwax
- Headaches/Migraines
- Glue Ear
- Sinusitis
- Rhinitis
- Tinnitus
- Menieres Disease
- Snoring
- Stress/Anxiety
- Insomnia
- Neuralgia
- Bells Palsy
